Mod Life Collection to Feature Jimmie Martin
Designer to Madonna and Royalty to showcase luxury pillows in
Mod Life Collection’s showroom at Las Vegas Market.

FLAGSTAFF, AZ, July 26, 2016 – American-made, modern upholstery brand, Mod Life Collection, will feature luxury pillows designed and produced by Jimmie Martin, an award-winning London-based design firm notorious for creating innovative home good designs whose celebrity clientele include the likes of Madonna and Royalty.
Mod Life Collection’s co-founders—Robert Petril and Kiersten Parsons—are thrilled to partner with Jimmie Martin, an established British luxury home goods brand whose aesthetic combines sophisticated luxury with sexy, modern design elements.

Jimmie Martin’s stand-out designs have been on my radar for many years; I have great respect for what they do,” Petril said. “How can anyone forget the chair they designed for Madonna’s Super Bowl performance—it was epic! Watching their evolution into soft goods—which complement our furniture designs so well—led to the opportunity to showcase their pillows at our upcoming Vegas Market debut while continuing to carry out our mission to celebrate talented global designers.” The renowned designer pillows will adorn Mod Life Collection’s newly remastered, designer-friendly line of custom upholstery. “Mod Life Collection stands out in a sea of the same,” said Jimmie Martin co-founder, Jimmie Karlsson. “We are excited to be a part of their debut in Las Vegas.”

Trade show attendees can find Mod Life Collection at Las Vegas Market, July 31st through August 4th in showroom C-394 of Building C.

Mod Life and Mod Mom Take HB2 Stand—Pull Out of High Point Market

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mod Life and Mod Mom Take HB2 Stand—Pull Out of High Point Market
Mod Brands—Mod Life Collection and Mod Mom Furniture—Cancel Plans to Exhibit in April

PHILADELPHIA, March 29, 2016 – Mod Life Collection, co-founded by 30-year industry veteran, Robert Petril, and Kiersten Hathcock, ABC’s Shark Tank survivor and founder of sister company, Mod Mom Furniture, made the decision to withdraw from exhibiting at the upcoming High Point Market trade show in April.
“Like so many of our friends and colleagues in the industry, we were shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of HB2,” said Petril, CEO and co-founder of Mod Life Collection. “Both Kiersten and I are people who greatly value diversity and inclusion and feel strongly, given the position we are in, we need to take a stand.”

Mod Life Collection has exhibited at High Point Market since April 2015 and prior to HB2, planned to showcase new designs as well as launch Mod Mom branded sofas next month at the spring exhibition. The Mod Mom Furniture upholstery launch will now debut after Market.
“As entrepreneurs who have struggled to support our families in the past, we thought long and hard about the ramifications of standing up for equality in this way—not just for our own brands, but for the many families in North Carolina who depend on Market traffic to feed their families,” Hathcock said. “We ultimately decided that we cannot support discrimination. It is our hope that our industry, which greatly impacts North Carolina’s economy, will join together in various ways to support diversity, inclusion and human compassion.”

Mod Life Collection and Mod Mom Furniture are solely manufactured in the U.S. Production for both modern furniture brands is bi-coastal, with factories in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio and California.
“From the time I was 19-years-old working in a North Carolina upholstery factory, until now, I have seen progress on many fronts,” added Petril. “But HB2 is a serious step in the wrong direction not only for the state and the furniture industry, but for every single one of us. I’m personally hoping North Carolina will get on the right side of history. Until then, we at Mod Life and Mod Mom, will continue to monitor the situation and will evaluate our plans for future exhibitions in High Point.”
