I went back to Matera in Puglia today, to scout some more locations for the photo shoot of my new upcoming Lounge collection. Along the walk I just had to stop and gawk at the amazing doors!
Each one tells a mystical story. My imagination takes me on journey back through the ages. Take a look at some of the beautiful pieces of art I found...

Can't you just feel it?
Some very interesting doors, R! Do you have a fave or just love them all?
ReplyDeleteHhm, it's scary. A lot of ancient things like that in my country.
ReplyDeleteRobert,
ReplyDeleteThey bring to mind past life entrance points. Step through any door and enter that life history. Magical!

Hi Robert,
ReplyDeleteI love these images. Rustic, rough and textured; I spent time in Sicily last year photographing the buildings and was often found sitting on random doorsteps in ancient little streets, sketchpad on lap as I tried capture the atmosphere and shabby chic gorgeousness of the place. Managed to get some great shots of "balcony life" too, with some pretty scowly Sicilian ladies on one or two! You've done a great job with these shots. I'll eb back for more soon.

I like seeing ancient doors but it freaks me out coz it seems that there's a ghost in it lol
ReplyDeleteInteresting photos of old doors. And yeah, they are beautiful... but kinda freaky. Could they be hiding any ghost? :D
ReplyDeleteRobert, I have some pictures about the antique things. If you're not busy, just stop for a while in my blog. Hope you like it :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd my best friend also has an antique shop. I'm gonna show it to you too.
Oh this is a wonderful post Robert. I love old doors and entry ways. Such great images. Hugs!
ReplyDeletethe second to last doors I love! They would look amazing retrofitted in a modern space, a loft -like space!
ReplyDeleteI love them all !! ....I find a metaphorical meaning within this post.....It's like to slip into time doors that swing both ways.
ReplyDeleteAt least for me it's always an emotional experience to see and touch things that has remained despite the passing of time....they are the "guardians of the memory of time"
Great post Robert
I wonder how old these doors are.Actually, if they are there over hundred years so I am really impressed with not only decorations but also the materials of them. Thanks
