Last day of MAGIC

Well, as they say...all good things must come to an end. Today was the last day of the show, and what an amazing couple of days it was. I loved every second of it, and I can't wait till the next show.

One of the things I learned was that two days is not enough. Next time I will come for the full three days. This show is so huge!!! I could spend a whole day just in the footwear hall alone. Oh, and I have to ham it up a bit, and show you the shoes I bought. Some of the vendors will sell their samples at the end of the show. Check out this pair of purple awesomeness...

During the span of the last two days, I met with over 200 companies, and most of them said they had a really great show. After attending the furniture show two weeks ago, and this fashion show this week, I can't help but get the sense that business conditions are slowly but steadily improving. There were a lot of smiling company owners at both shows. Things are look'n up!

Unfortunately, covering so much ground, and talking with so many companies, my camera didn't come out of my pocket nearly enough. However, this next photo just had to be taken...

Yup! A vending machine with ballet flats! What a brilliant idea!

Seriously, how cool is this???

Well, it's now 3:00AM, and I have a delicious baked apple pie to finish here. After that, do I go to bed? Or do I go back out? Hmmmm...decisions...decisions...

I hope you have a great day full of smiles :-) And, as always, thank you so much for reading!

All my best wishes,

Robert

MAGIC & PROJECT Day 1

It was a beautiful sunset landing in Las Vegas last night, and today was a crazy good first day at the show! The fashion peeps are some of the coolest on the planet. Boundless creativity and vision. I was loving every minute of it...despite my sore feet! I would love to know how many miles I walked. It was a whole lot, but worth every step!

Out of respect for the designers, I didn't take any close ups of the new products, but I did manage to snap a few shots to give you a little of the atmosphere.

G STAR RAW shoes. No way to resist visiting this booth!

ROCKSTAR SUSHI, a way cool edgy brand from California...Loved it!

CONDOM Socks. This company makes their socks with bamboo...yes you read that right...bamboo! And, you would not believe how soft and wonderful they are! So cool...so GREEN...so awesome!

There was SO MUCH more, but I was so focused on the next rad piece around each corner, I just couldn't stop to take more photos. But, I will leave you with a very cool video I took at the end of the day in STREET

Have a great day eveyone! I'm off to start day 2! :-)

Las Vegas Furniture Market...

The show was SO great! The colors were so vibrant and fun! Modernism is still the overall feeling. Also, the spread of "GREEN" awareness is greater and greater! So many wonderful natural textures and reclaimed materials made into timeless treasures. Creativity was all around you. I took way too few photos because my schedule was CRAZY!!! But, I think I got enough to give you a good idea...

Art and function are still marching towards each other. I love it!

HAZIZA...How wild! This is some serious artistic expression.
All white heaven!

James DeWulf is doing some amazing pieces with concrete. Great artist! You gotta keep your eye on this dude...endless possibilities!

During the show, I got the chance to sit down with my friend Angelo Surmelis and preview his new introductions. Angelo is so great! His vision along with Tom, and the rest of the peeps at Angelo Home are changing the industry...seriously! I always love what Angelo does...so keep your eyes open for his next pieces of "Awesomeness"...I bet you will too!
.

18 Karat was modern sophistication with a soft organic touch. I totally love their style!

Sheep!...Sheep!!!

It's totally true that every piece by the Phillips Collection is a conversation. Amazing talent and vision. Every piece is a unique treasure!

So much cool stuff...

Of course my token chandelier shot! ;-)

There was so much more of course. If I had the time to take more photos, this post would be even longer! Plus, I haven't mentioned the food yet. On the last night, dinner was at TAO in the Venetian. And, it was a dinner to remember...SO GOOD!!!! I met up with my good friend and design genius Steve Hamm, and his partner master craftsman Don Wroth from Urban Design & Construction. We had an awesome night!
Dinner was Pork Spring Rolls, Lobster Wontons, Chicken Satay, Chilean Sea Bass, Black Pepper Filet w/Udon Noodles, Chinese Broccoli, and capped off with a giant chocolate cream stuffed Fortune Cookie! I'm so sorry the only photo I got was the last empty plate. I'm going to blame it on the fact that as every dish came to the table, a chopstick war broke out with the "Urban dudes." It was an unbelievable meal! We almost ate through the table! When you get to Las Vegas you have to eat at TAO!
.

As you can imagine, Las Vegas was a great place to see the furniture show. Even with a crazy busy schedule! It was Great fun, met great people, and saw a ton of top notch creativity! And, the Hard Rock Hotel has such a cool energy. I love the music everywhere you go, even when you walk into your room.
I can't wait to go back!
