Tomorrow is the first day

Tomorrow is the first day for me on the set of "The Stream", a new Dreaming Tree Films movie. The story is set in 1981, and I've spent the last several weeks going back in time. As the set designer, my time has been spent searching for the furniture, cars, and props from a time I remember very well. I was a teenager in the early 80's. Star Wars was all the rage back then, and MTV was dominating the airways. Aqua Net was depleting the Ozone layer, and Swanson TV Dinners were on folding trays in living rooms all over America!

I've done and participated in many types of design projects throughout my career, but I've never worked on a movie set before. I can't describe how excited and nervous I am at the same time. It's going to be really fun! The best part is that my son will be right by my side the whole time. I hired him to be my assistant on this project, and I can't wait to see the expression on his face as he embarks on this adventure with me. I'm expecting to create memories that will last us a lifetime!

I plan to chronicle the whole thing as we go. Tomorrow they're filming some exterior scenes, but it will be the first time I get to see the interiors I will be rolling back to 1981. Then we will be able to head out and do the "Picking" for the interior sets. That's going to be a frantic and fun adventure as well! Stay tuned for more posts coming soon, and wish us we go!
